Introduction to Q2PEC Program

The Q2PEC program is a short-term study abroad program designed for Japanese students in the field of engineering. The program aims to improve English communication skills and provide opportunities for international exchange.

Program Objectives

The Q2PEC program focuses on enhancing English communication skills and fostering international awareness among students. The program also aims to promote global mindset and awareness of degree-seeking studies abroad.

English Language Learning

Students will learn English with other international students, focusing on the four skills of speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

• Participation in workshops organized by UQ engineering students
• Visits to research laboratories and facilities, such as the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO)

Exchange Opportunities

UQ-JPIE Program

The Q2PEC program is linked with the UQ-JPIE program, which allows students from UQ to visit Kyushu University in July. Q2PEC participants will have the opportunity to interact with UQ students in Japan and again in Australia.

Homestay Experience

Students will stay with host families in Brisbane, providing opportunities for cultural exchange and language practice.

Free Time

Weekends are free, allowing students to explore Brisbane and surrounding areas, such as the Gold Coast, or participate in local events like the Brisbane Festival.
